Figure and Portrait Drawing with Henry Yan (waitlist, please email)

Date: Friday to Sunday, April 29 to May 1, 2022
Time: 10am-5pm, with 1 hour lunch break
Cost: $600

Learn from the master!  Henry Yan is an established contemporary fine artist. He has been teaching drawing and oil painting for more than 20 years and giving workshops in North America and Europe. This workshop will focus on both figure and portrait charcoal drawings from life models. Different techniques mentioned in Henry's book, Henry Yan's Figure Drawing, Techniques and Tips, will also be introduced and practiced in class.

Other than techniques, students will also be encouraged to find their own way of seeking beauty from each pose when practice, and interpret what they found with a personal artistic approach instead of just copying.

Lots of demos and individual help will show students how to create beautiful line works, methods of placing different tones to render three dimensionally; design realistic works with supporting abstract elements; and the way to do drawings with painterly approach.  Techniques in Henry Yan's Figure Drawing book will be introduced and practiced.
