Irenka Pareto is a printmaker and illustrator specializing in relief printmaking . Born and raised in Barcelona, Spain, Irenka came to the USA in 2006 for graduate school, completing her Ph.D. in Education in 2011. After decades of a very fulfilling and successful career as an educator, social scientist, and writer, art came to her life like a revolution and happily took over. Now, as The Wonderstruck Printmaker, Irenka creates original, hand-carved, and hand-printed linocut relief prints celebrating the wonders and beauty of those small ordinary moments that make life worth living. Working mostly with linoleum, Irenka is drawn to graphic and illustrative styles, endlessly fascinated by the storytelling possibilities of composition and by mark making as a way to create tone, texture, and feeling.
